A huge upset in the Tokyo 100 meters as Italy’s Marcell Jacobs produced the performance of a lifetime to win the Tokyo 2020 men’s 100 meters final. The Italian produced a surprise victory racing from lane three dipping at the line in a time of 9.80 seconds in a new national record at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium. With the time of 9.80 seconds Jacobs also set a new 100 meters European record.
