For the first time in history, a monarch’s grandchildren stood vigil.
In Westminster Abbey, Queen Elizabeth’s grandchildren gathered around her coffin with bowed heads. Led by 40-year-old Prince William, our next King, the youngest of them is 14. It was a moment that reminded us how the younger members of the Royal Family are coming to terms with the loss of their grandmother. Mourners continue to witness the Queen lying-in-state.
